God is faithful

One of the most wonderful attributes of God is His faithfulness. God's Word shows God to be a God who makes promises and it also shows that He fulfills His promises, He causes them all to come to pass. When God comes to Abraham and makes promises to him, He fulfills those promises to Abraham and to his son Isaac and his grandson Jacob. The amazing things about it is that God in continuing to deal with people He labeled Himself the "God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."

God is directing the later generations to look back at the fulfillment of the promises that were made to the Abraham and his descendants. When God later comes to Moses and God is sending Moses back to Egypt to lead His people out, Moses asked God "what if I come to the people of Israel and say to them "The God of your fathers has sent me to you," and they ask me. "What is his name? what shall I say to them?" God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Say this to the people of Israel, "I AM has sent me to you.."" God also said to Moses, "Say this to the people of Israel, The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. "This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations. Exodus 3: 13-15

We see that this incident in Exodus is just after Moses sees the burning bush that would not burn up where God says I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Exodus 3:6

I AM WHO I AM - is God saying that He is not defined or determined by any other than Himself, As the self-existent One. The LORD in the Hebrew is Yahweh derived from the Hebrew verb for "to be" (meaning he is or he will be) (Reformation Study Bible) We have already talked about the importance that God places on His name - He told Israel that when He was going to act, it was not for them that He was acting but it was because they had defamed His name to the people around them, and God was going to act to restore the honor of His name.

The point here is that God is saying that He is faithful He has always shown Himself to be faithful. He makes covenant to men. The men break covenant, but God never does. He is showing that His Word can be counted as faithful. His promises will come to pass. That's the importance of the Bible,we have what some call that old, old story because for thousands of years God's faithfulness has been proved again and again.  That's one of the unique things about Christianity. Islam's Koran was given to Mohammad in a short period of time, Buddha received the tenants of Buddhism during his lifetime. The story of Christianity is over a span of 2-3 millennium. Not during the life time of one man. Christianity has over 40 authors separated by 100's of years and that Divine theme shines forth testifying to its Godly origin.

God is faithful. Another attribute of God is that He is a righteous Judge. As we have said His Word has been around for millennium's and His warning about His judgment is there. The Love of God has caused Him to provide escape from His wrath through His Son Jesus Christ, He stresses the fact in His Word that salvation (being saved from His wrath) can only be found in Jesus Christ. So if you are trying any other way, throw it in the trash it is garbage it will nor work, turn to Christ. His promise is sure, He has promised that all who come to Christ will not be turned away. There is life in no other name. The faithful God says so. His Word is sure.  Many do not believe the faithfulness of God. They reject the truth of His Word, suppress the knowledge of Him, consider it advanced, elite intellectualism to have no regard for God, to consider Him not necessary. The fact of the matter is you cannot reason away the God of the Bible, that God is to big, too powerful, to mighty. The god you think you are dealing with in efforts to reject him, is to weak to be  the God of the Bible, the god you think you can control or walk away from, is to puny, to small to be the God of the Bible. No, you have misjudged, the God of the Bible is described like this:

At the end of days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored Him who lives forever, for His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation; all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and He does according to His will among the hosts of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay His hand or say to Him, "What have you done?"  Daniel 4:34-35

For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorties - all things were created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16

The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

With the merciful you show yourself merciful; with the blameless man you show yourself blameless; with the purified you show yourself pure; and with the crooked you make yourself seem tortuous. Psalm 18:25-26

God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day. Psalm 7:11

It is He who made the earth by His power, who established the world by His wisdom, and by His understanding strecthed out the heavens. Jeremiah 51:15

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. Hebrews 1:3

These is a very small sample of verses in the Bible that show the power of God. It is certainly blindness from the truth that inclines someone to think that they have control over God, or that they can somehow ignore Him and think all is well.

You are my witness declares the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am He.  Isaiah 43:10

Do you know that the God of the Bible is the true God - if you do, fall on your face in reverence becausee God has chosen you to know, believe and understand that He is God. This is the only way we can come to know that the God of the Bible is the true God. He reveals Himself to us. He makes us know Him. His Spirit guides us into the truth and we grow in that knowledge as we submit to His lordship and acknowledge His sovereign will in our life's. He is LORD.

Blessings!
