Romans - an introduction

The Book of Romans has come to us with high acclaim throughout our Christian heritage. Rightly so, because it is the word of God. It has been said to be the most comprehensive explanation of the gospel in the whole Bible. The Reformation Study Bible states that it covers all of the Bible's greatest themes - sin, law, judgment, human destiny, faith, works, grace, justification, sanctification, election, the plan of salvation, the work of Christ and of the Spirit, the Christian hope, the nature and life of the church, the place of Jew and non-Jew in the purposes of God, and the principles godliness and morality. So, you see the study of the book of Romans is absolutely necessary for the growing Christian.

I will look at some of the major passages in Romans and relate them to our growth in Christ and our duty to pursuit a holy lifestyle in gratitude for the sure mercy and grace of God in leading us from death to life, from darkness to light, from Satan to Christ, from despair to joy, from hell to heaven. So, as always pray for the Lord to work in our studies and pray that we will have the grace to be attentive and obedient to His will and word and to do those things, think those thoughts that please Him.
