Easter: The most important day

Easter is the day the Christian world celebrates the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is in that sense that it is the most important day. It proclaims that Jesus Christ died and that He was raised from the dead. 1st Corinthians 15 gives the biblical proclamation of the resurrection and verses three and four states, "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried. that he was rasied on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures."

The resurrection is the gospel, it is the good news. The world shuns the resurrection, it does not believe the record of the Bible. That is tragic because that is the only way to escape the wrath of God. That is the only way to escape hell, that is the only way to have peace and godly assurance, you must beleive the gospel, and the gospel is; God placed ours sins on Jesus Christ on the cross, our punishment for our sins was placed on Christ, the full wrath of God was placed on Christ, for your sin and my sin, Christ died. But God raised Christ up, death could not hold Christ. His resurrection was a victory sign that the sins of all who trust in Christ have been forgiven.

That is the good news. The resurrection is the most important event in human history, it is the dividing line for humanity, we allow many things to separate us and place us in classes; race, wealth, age, sex, yet really the only dividing line on the judgement day or the day of our death will be, those who believe in the resurrection and those who do not.

God through His grace and to display His great glory has provided rescue and as the Bible states how can we escape if we ignore this so great salvation. The resurrection displays God's grace and glory.

Believe the record of Scripture, we all need God's help to believe and allow His Word to change us, that's why we have the Holy Spirit. Through prayer, meditation on the Word, we can become more and more confident in the Bible record. Allow the grace of God to work in your life.
