Godly Purposes and Instructions leading us to: God's Glory

The Bible is about God, without it we would not know the only true living God, who has created all things. It is His self revelation of Himself to human beings. The reason God gavesus His Word, is so we would know who the the true God is, even though we can not know Him fully. We will look at some instructions the Bible gives us, knowing that what the Bible states, God states:

Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I formed and made.  Isaiah 43:6-7

Those who have come to faith in the merits of Jesus Christ, all belivers worldwide, God says He created them for His glory, He says He formed them and made them. This speaks to the sovereignity of Almighty God. As this following verses makes clear.

Even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him in Love  He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses according to the riches of His grace.
Ephesians 1:4-7

The clarity of God's purpose in our salvation is wonderfully spelled out in these verses. It also shows the importance God gives to His glory. Looking further at this:

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

Everything we are to do should be done with the glory of God in our thoughts. When we obey God we give God glory, when we refuse to give in to some temptation, we give God glory, when we exhibit kindness to another person,  we give God glory. The opposite of that is that when a believer allows sin to overcome him
we grieve God.
And the LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him to His heart. Genesis 6:6

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30

Romans 8:30 explains the process that God is working - we see that the end of that process is that we are glorified.

The final place that believers in Christ will live is a  holy city: the New Jerusalem:

And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light and its lamb by its light and its lamp is the Lamb by its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it and its gates will never be shut by day - and there will be no night there. They will bring into it the glory and the honour of the nations. But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.  Revelation 21:22-27

LORD, we pray that you would cause us to humble ourselves before Your holy purpose for our lives, that we would obey you, showing that we love You. Help us Father to saturate our minds with Your word and that Your Spirit would apply Your word to our hearts and to our daily lives, help us to understand that all of creation to moving toward the time when the holy city, the New Jerusalem will come down and only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book will live there. Give glory to Your great and Holy Name and save us and keep us on the narrow way that leads to the New Jerusalem, in Christ Name we pray

Amen (our amen means we know that You have heard our prayer, therefore we say amen, May it be so because of who you are!!
